I hope everyone who came to the Tim Lott talk took away something of interest. I certainly enjoyed his insights.
We now have another opportunity to have someone from the Faber Academy and I wanted to see if the group would like this as an extra even (with a small fee).
The speaker would be Richard Skinner who is Director of the Fiction Programme at the Faber Academy and a tutor on its six-month ‘Writing a Novel’ course.
Richard is the author of three novels, all published by Faber & Faber. The Red Dancer has been translated into seven languages. The Mirror consists of two short novels, The Mirror and The Velvet Gentleman. A translation of The Velvet Gentleman was shortlisted in France for the Prix Livres & Musiques. He has also written a writer’s handbook entitled Fiction Writing. His poems have been published in a variety of print magazines including Staple, Brand and Magma and his full-length collection, the light user scheme, is published by Smokestack. For many years, Richard was an Associate Tutor at Goldsmiths College, London, where he taught on the MA Creative & Life Writing.
The talk will be writing tips based.
