April Meeting

Wednesday 27th April 2016 at Blackwell’s Bookshop 7-9pm
Getting used to talking about you and your novel:
Once you book’s been published, how do you talk about it? (and sell it!) Join us as we interview a published author for the Blackwell’s YouTube channel and then . . . it’s your turn! We’ll discuss and mentor you so that you can hone your skills in telling the world why your book is the next must-read. How do you sell yourself on video – how do you cope with the pressure of being articulate when a camera is thrust in your face – how do you sum up, in the most enticing way, what your new novel is about in twenty seconds/one minute/three minutes/five minutes? What about readings to camera? What about recommending books?

We will go through some demonstrations and exercises based on these ideas to help you on your way to becoming a self-promoting (in the best possible way!) star of the screen.

  1. Hi Cherry I need you to send me an ‘invitation’ to allow me to be part of the 2012 on Facebook please. See you on Wednesday

  2. Hi there, My name is Paul Hernandez. I’m currently writing my first novel and so I’m interested in your group. I’m also taking a writing course. Please tell me more. Home number is 01865 401196. Thanks,

  3. Hi, Everyone. I’m sorry but I’m not going to make it this evening. My wife has had to stay late at work and I’m in charge of the children. Hope you have a good one! All the best, Philip.

    1. Hi Cherry,

I got this from one of your members. It was good meeting you this evening at Blackwells Book shop. We must meet up for a coffee(my treat) so that we can discuss each other’s work. I’m trying to arrange my next assignment for the writing course. What book did you write on Iran? I have a book by Ryzard Kapucinski a polish journalist called The Shah of Shahs about the life of the late Shah of Iran up until his overthrow in 1979.

At the moment I’m into romance novels and my favourite novelist is the American author Debbie Macomber.

Take care and keep in touch,

      Paul Hernandez,
