May meeting: Agent Caroline Wood

Wednesday May 29th, at Blackwell’s Bookshop, 48-51 Broad Street, Oxford, from 7-9pm.

Literary agent Caroline Wood will talk about her life as an agent and answer all your questions about what agents want and how to get an agent.

Caroline Wood is a leading literary agent and director at Felicity Bryan Associates, an independent literary agency based in Oxford.

Caroline represents literary fiction and well written commercial fiction, including crime and thrillers. She is actively looking for original, compelling literary debuts, and loves books that transport her to a different time or place, books that have a secret or mystery at the heart of them, books about family and relationships, books that are psychologically complex and emotionally involving, always beautifully written and with a distinctive voice. She greatly enjoys the editing process and work closely with her authors to make their books the best they can be. In non-fiction, she represent primarily memoirs. She also sells book to film/TV rights for a number of her authors.

    I am somewhat angry with myself for missing this! It sounds to have been very useful. If you could summarise any of her points, I would be most grateful, but realize you may have better things to do!
